appearance vs. reality

I think it is important when looking at things around us that there is a surface and there is a deeper than the surface. Often things are created for us to only look at the surface and we are not aware of the layers behind it. The media for example is painting a picture and create feelings so that we will feel a certain way. For example showing us lifestyles that most of us will never experience but making it so we want it! and we are therefore never satisfied or happy with what we have.
